For more information on how Echo leverages AI for reliable, efficient solutions, visit echo.com AI and Machine Learning AI and Machine Learning AI at Echo Global Logistics At its core, Artificial Intelligence (AI) simply means that a program has the capability to teach itself. For a third-party logistics provider (3PL) such as Echo, we begin with a business challenge or obstacle, then identify the best available tool to achieve results. As a technology-based company, our system leverages algorithms and machine learning to find the best solutions for our clients and partners. What's the Difference Between AI and Machine Learning? While very closely related, AI and machine learning are two distinctly different fields. AI includes programs which frequently run independently, often once a user has entered an input, and has the capacity to develop new solutions to complex problems based on the input data. A subset of AI, machine learning algorithms identify trends and use them to make predictions and decisions. In other words, machine learning programs are taught to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. Methodology for Freight Matching AI, Machine Learning, and other forms of predictive algorithms increase efficiency, service, and matching capacity while providing a seamless, easy experience for our carriers. Whether it's digital dynamic quoting, anticipating delivery delays, capacity matching, mode and network optimization, or procuring the right capacity at the right rate, our data science and technology teams have integrated predictive models into our central processes. Simultaneously, we keep the phones on, so making a call to our experts is just as easy as an API call. The Echo AI Advantage Echo utilizes AI in several ways: • Self-service load booking • Dynamic, flexible pricing • On-time delivery prediction • API/EDI integration with existing systems
