Many respondents appear to be relying on data from the
previous year to guide their budgeting and transportation
forecasts for the next six months. A plurality — 23%
overall and 21% of shippers only – will use rates from the
past 12 months.
Many others, however, are leveraging technology to
predict rates. The second most common response is
internally produced predictive rate modeling, which
is slightly more favored by shippers (21%) than by the
overall pool (19%).
